This works on 4.2.1 actually.

It's true! I've tried it on 4.1 and 4.2.1.

If jailbroken, *pretty easy if you know what you're doing*

Use something like i-Funbox & go to /var/mobile/Library/Preference­s/com.apple.springboard.plist

Open it up with a Property List viewer. I suggest iFile, but Do *NOT* use notepad, it will be in binary UNREADABLE form, once in there, add a new boolean (switch): SBDontLockAfterCrash enabled
