Ms. Darling: Oh, dear... where are my keys?
Drea: *coming down the steps with two sets of keys jingling out in front of her. One hers, one her mother's* Right here, Mom.
Ms. D: *smiling* What would I do without you, Andrea?
Drea: Hm... *putting on a fake puzzled look* drown. Probably. *starts to grin*
Tyler: *begins to walk down the steps with a flat look on his face* Is this school better than the last one?
Ms. D: *confused* The last one wasn't nice?
Dear: Well... we didn't exactly--
Drea: *finishes her sentence* --fit in.
*They both laugh.*
Tyler: Exactly.
Ms. D: Well then, make some friends!
Drea: In Salem, Indiana, Mom?
Dear: Dream on. *laughs*
Drea: *on her way out, she pecks her mom on the cheek* Love you, Mom. See you when I get home.
Dear: *follows Drea's actions* Ditto. Love you.
Tyler: Yea, me too... *thinks: Why are they so enthusiastic about this?*
Ms. D: I love you all! Have a great first day, my little Darlings. *smiles at her pun*

-At Salem High School

Connor: *leaning up against a few lockers, two girls in front of him* *groans* I'm gonna fail...
Sadie: And I'm not? *laughs*
Leslie: *maturely* I mean, it's your own faults. You guys went out to that party the other night while I stayed home and studied. *tries to but can't hold in her laughter*
*Connor and Sadie join in her laughter*
Sadie: *suddenly stops laughing* Oh. Em. Gee. Who are THEY? *points to the Darlings*
Leslie: Oh my God! The-They're GORGEOUS!
Connor: *finally turns to look at them and his eyes lock on Drea, the youngest of the Darlings* Yea, she is.
Leslie: Huh?
Connor: *startled* Nothing! I said 'They are!"
Sadie: *ignoring them* I'm going to say hi to them. *starts smiling*
Leslie: *grabs her arm* NO!
*Dear turns her eyes toward Leslie with a puzzled look on her face and then elbows Drea and Tyler. They then turn to look at the girl, too.*
--With the Darlings
Dear: *whispers to Drea* Do you think they're talking about us?
Drea: *whispers back* Yea.. but what does that matter? *smiles*
Tyler: *butts in whispering* It matters plenty!
--Back with Leslie and Sadie
Leslie: NOW look what you did.
Sadie: *looks back at her and smiles* It's your own fault! *turns to walk away*
Leslie: *grabs her arm again* Well.. well.. I'm coming with you!
Sadie: Great! *smiles at her and they start to walk towards the new kids*
--Back with Dear
Tyler: *whispers to Dear* They're coming over here!
Dear: *whispers back* Let 'em! It's not like we don't need friends!
Drea: *butts in whispering* Y'know, she has a point.
*Tyler rolls his eyes and Sadie and Leslie approach them*
Sadie: Uh... hey!
Dear: Hey.
Sadie: Uhm... I'm Sadie. *smiles*
Dear: Deardra... Dear, for short. *winks*
Sadie: Sweet... *smiling*
Leslie: I'm Leslie... wanna sit with us at lunch? You too... *looks at Tyler* We have another boy that sits with us.
Tyler: *thinks about it* Uhm... okay. I'd like that. *smiles at her*
Leslie: *smiles back* Good. *looks behind her* *yells* CONNOR!
*Connor looks startled, then comes over to join them.*
Connor: What?
Leslie: This is... uh... uhm... what's your name? *smiles apologetically*
Tyler: It's Tyler. *returns the smile*
Leslie: Yes! This is my friend, Tyler. And that's Dear. *motions to Dear* And that's..
Sadie: *who was talking with Drea* Drea.
Connor: *recognizes her as the girl he was staring at* Hey. *laughs and smiles at her*
Drea: *is kind of creeped out* Uhm.. hi.
Dear: Anyway, we all need help getting to our classes... who wants to take us? *laughs*
