@xXCelineDionXx I found it. In her own words : ''Opera ? I don't have the talent for it.''

I posted the link here so more people can see it. I don't like it when people think Celine exagerates cause the woman is nothing but humble and down to earth.

@xXCelineDionXx It was in 1998, she had curly hair and was interviewed by a woman (It was in English). If I find it, I will send it to you in pm. By the way, have you ever heard about the interview tiengallavant is talking about ?
-
@Luxiusta07 Never heard of that interview and I'm pretty sure Celine never stated that she couldn't sing opera. Can you send me the link of that interview ?

Celine could definitely sing opera with training. She has the range to pull this off.

@tiengallavant You obviously exagerate a lot. None of what you said shows that Celine believes (or thought) she could sing opera. Besides, this is the reason she auditioned to Kent Nagano : in order to see IF she had POTENTIAL. It is more than clear she knows her limits. Send me the interview if you find it. And you'd rather watch the Tv Specials for D'elles where she talked about this song and Maria Callas and never mentioned anything about opera etc. She knows she's a pop singer #LOL.

@tiengallavant D'elles is a concept album that celebrates womanhood. A tribute to Maria Callas (aka the ultimate female singer) fits perfectly to the content of this album. Celine has been asked whether she could sing opera or not and she clearly stated that she CAN'T sing opera. This was on an interview back in 1998. Having the ambition to play Maria Callas in a movie is totally irrelevant to her singing. Any REAL Celine fan knows that Celine never exagerates. She knows where to draw the line.

@tiengallavant Pretentious? Maria Callas is Celine's idol and she was simply paying tribute to her. And her belts were solid in this song and her emotions were sincere, so it's unclear how this was embarrassing for her. But thanks for commenting...
Crystal clear and emotive vocals, powerful mid belts, smooth transitions,
beautiful intonation and a connected (IMO) head voice. Her emotional
expression and sense of lyricism are so evident in songs like this.
Simply Amazing. Thank you Cade <3 Liked / Shared / Faved.

''La Diva'' was written by Denise Bombardier (Lyrics) and Erick Benzi (Music).
It is featured on Celine's 2007 album called ''D'Elles''. The song includes
fragment of "Si, mi chiamano Mìmì" from the opera ''La bohème'' performed
by Maria Callas in 1956. It pays tribute to Maria Callas - A song about Maria's
unique talent, legendary status and life that shows Celine's respect and
admiration to the most amazing singer ever lived.
