After that game on my way out to the parking lot I remember these guys in their car driving around the Coliseum like crazy, screaming "1940!!!!!!!" honking the horn over and over again. They had a hockey stick with a white sheet hanging out the window with "1940" written on it in black.
Shit, I even remember that the car was a white 4 door. ha
I was at that game with my Brother, it was part of his Christmas present. If I remember correctly Graves opening the scoring but I think was given a game misconduct for some reason. The Isles would score 4 straight goals.
I was at the game on October 17, 1992. The first game I ever drove to. I turned 17 on October 11, 1992! It wa a great game, but I wish the Rangers didn't score those two late goals.
I counted 6 games right there with the Islanders wining 3, losing 2, and 1 tie. I remember that tie being controversy with a lot of blown calls on the Islander end-was 8 years old still however. Pierre Turgeon ended the ranger$ season with an overtime game winner at MSG on April 2nd of that year. Islanders went 4-2-1 in the 7 game skit between the 2 teams with an unusual 84 game season. Islanders turned it up in the playoffs that year and then it all went down hill but Happy days are here again!
