  • Thanks for this video. Was it known that night that it was his last show?

  • @gonesavage ..... no it was not...we found out a couple days later.

  • If anyone can enlighten me as to the back story behind this fucking incredible song...it took me forever to ascertain it was about a musician with HIV/AIDS ("...sick to my stomach from the AZT...") Is it just another brilliant narrative they concocted or is it based on a real individual? Thanks for posting, patchoulieskye

  • Gregory Dean Smalley was a part of the redneck underground in the Atlanta area in the late 80's and 90's,he was the founder of Bubbabalooza and he died of HIV but he continued to perform until he passed away...doing over 200 shows the last year of his life...R.I.P Gregory.

  • Why Jason left the band??

  • to go out on his own and make music with his own band ..you can find him under Jason Isbell and the 400 unit ..ck them out!

  • please stay over there or where ever you people come from

  • I'm still bummed out about Jason leaving DBT. I still love DBT and they sound better than ever, but that was a killer lineup when they had Jason in the lineup.

  • @patchouliskye also he was married to shawna and they seperated hope it goes great for you jason

  • @WeMustBeStopped

Gregory Dean Smalley was a mainstay of the Georgia music scene in the 80's and 90's, playing in the Diggers, the Blacktop Rockets, The Wellsprings of Hope, and Whisper Garden not to mention his numerous solo shows. He was taken way too early from this world, and Patterson Hood wrote this song, "The Living Bubba," to honor our fine musician.

  • You so call fans piss me off! You either love a band/artist, or you don't ! If your a fan, a true fan, of an artist, or band, the line up does'nt matter. Writing styles, playing styles, even the sound might morph a bit into different territory, and change a bit, but this is part of evolution of a band. And the comment to give this song or that song a rest, come on, that is B.S.! Go back to listening to your same ignorant BULLSHIT commercial crap. These songs are far to deep 4 your brain!

  • I was there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was there!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dbt sucks ass without isbell, he made the band

  • Re: DBT with and/or without Jason: This band is STUFFED with talent IMO--and Jason flowed over the edge and out. Now Shonna shyly taking more of a songwriting role, and ALL guitarists can blaze pretty good. I love them--and Jason, too.
