Judy Bonds speaks at the Coal River Mountain Rally at the DEP in Kanawha City, WV, Dec. 7 2009. During her speech, 2 coal trucks that kept passing back and forth tried to interrupt her speach by blairing their horns. You will hear in the video. They did it several times during others' speeches, however, Judy doesnt let them get away with it. Gotta love her!

READERS: Below you will find yet more examples of the threats of violence and death. The Matewan War in wich they are refering to is when true miners faught for the unionization against coal industry oppression. Oppression that is now taking place today by the coal industry against the civilan. Again, they talk about their "babies" not having food, but where will their babies be when the land is uninhabitable and the coal is gone? Who will their babies blame then?

Again, below, they want you to take their word at face value. I, however, request that if you want to know what MTR looks like, take a look at some of the link I have posted in my "more info" sections. The best view is from the air however. I, myself, had no clue of the scale of destruction until I seen it from a few thousand feet in the air. They do not want you to see it this way because they know many would most likey be disgusted as well.

Also, I would like to add that none have bothered to address the issue that the USGS has predicted there is only about 20 yrs worth of mineable coal. What will they do if/when that prediction comes true. If WV is so dependent on coal, then do we not need to start hunting other avenues before that 20 yr limit happens?

PRO-COAL PROPAGANDA ALERT:

The following statements are what the coal industry want you to believe. Again they try to keep us in fear, fear that we cannot live without coal. If one wants to keep people or a region under their control, you use fear. And, what is another word for fear, but alas, TERROR. Simply put, again, we dont know that we cant live without the coal industry's tyranny because we've never tried, and they want it that way. Without the fear, they have no power over us.

Hey birdbrain said it... wind power has to piggyback off of coal to make itself look good.also I read that 2 wind turbines in their lifetime eleminate enough co2 for 1 trip on a jet liner.  ummmm not very good and expensive

READERS: MTR is not as bad as they make it to be! The whole mountain top is not put in a valley fill!!! It is put back to an approximate contour minus the height for the coal seams which isn't that much! MTR is used because they cannot safely mine it from an underground standpoint! Wind farm electricity is ALOT higher priced than coal -fired electricity. Solar doesn't charge in the night time or cloudy times, and hydro relies on no droughts and not very much boat traffic!
