The saxophonist David Liebman has all the credentials of a major eminence in modern jazz. In the 1960's he worshiped at the altar of John Coltrane; in the 1970s he toured with Miles Davis. He has led a handful of fine ensembles through the years, and toiled as a sideman in many others. Among fellow saxophonists and fellow educators, his reputation is ironclad.

@JazzVideoGuy kinda reminds me of a tamil carnotic wedding music which went on for days in a hotel I was staying at in the early 80's. His soprano approach sounds a little like sagorum, a wooden cone with a thick double reed to me. I love their sound together.

the great Jamey Haddad playing a doumbek, this is an alpha band. Vic Juris (whom I've had the good fortune to play with a handful of times--i'm a drummer/percussionist myself) is as great a rhythm player as he is soloist, which sounds like not big deal but it's a sign of a great musician
