Okami (Wii) - Invulnerable enemy glitch

This footage was recorded during the 10th round of the Ryoshima Coast Devil Gate Trial. After defeating 99 enemies, I could not damage the final Black Imp nor finish the Trial.

Since the enemy did not attack and since there was no way to cancel or exit the battle, I had to reset the game and lose all progress following my previous save.

I use a WinTV-PVR-USB2 - http://hauppauge.com/site/products/data_pvrusb2.html

It's an older model, but it does just fine with the TV out fed directly to the device and I bought it for $10 from a friend.

I recorded the video during my first playthrough of the game.

I was able to clear this Devil Gate Trial on the second attempt. I cleared the other Devil Gate Trials on first attempts and without any issues.

I hadn't heard of anyone else experiencing the same problem. I had hoped this was a one-time fluke, but it looks as though it might be a legitimate bug. Here's hoping Capcom fixed it for the Japanese release.

That must've sucked. All that hard work, and for what? An invincible final imp whom which you cannot beat.

It was certainly frustrating, but at least it was the first (Ryoshima) Devil Gate Trial. If the third (Kamui) Devil Gate Trial had glitched, I probably would have thrown things.

(Ignore the last comment) This sorta happened to me. I was fighting those 2 people,Mr.and Mrs. Cutter. When I was on one of those freaks I couldn`t hit it!! I haven`t saved my game in a while so I was like "Omg!!!" lol So I tried hitting it with my shield(One before the last since it was 3rd time but this time from process and all from the 2nd) and it wouldn`t hit! I tried Power slashing nothing! Then I did Cherry bomb and then I could hit it.

My face: O_o!! Yay...?

This just happened to me last night. Very frustrating. Neither weapon nor item nor brush tech would touch the guy. I also let him roundhouse kick me to death & resurrection, still nothing.

It's not like the battles were hard, but I had probably collected 100+ demon fangs up to that point in the fight. Actually that might have been my downfall. It seemed to glitch while trying to get one last fang after "killing" this final imp.

Oh well. Glad I found your video to commiserate.

yeah it happened to me once with the same enemy.  it was in the iced room though.

What happened is when you defeated it something happened that made the game stopping it to 'die' but it counts as dead and is not solid matter and the fight can't end

happened to me too, however if you can get a cherry bomb to hit him he becomes vulnerable again. i almost shut down the wii XD
