Rectified High Voltage Spark Cell

12vdc inverted and rectified



the positive is a ran through a water capasitor containing distilled water with no electrolite and a 10 plate ss setup +nnnnnnnnn-.

Then - off the rectifier goes through another water capasitor containing distilled water with no electrolite and 2 ss plates.


different spacing of these plates give a different spark. maybe this could be acting as a varible capasitor,,,,,just a thought.

Have you tried to replicate this effect out of water? I mean, put the screws out of the water and a test tube with water in the middle. Then, try to make an spark arc. Maybe you could obtain the same effect but you prevent the screws to corrode because they aren´t in contact with the water.

Anothe question... How many amps are you drawing?

I havent tried it out of water, but i dont think it is enough voltage to make a jump, i had to put alot of electro lite in this to make it have this effect.......about the amps

im not sure, but the inverter i was useing is only 650watts so 650/120 cant be but a little over 5 amps cause the inverter stops working over 650 watts. thanksfor the comment

Hm, what about wrapping + and - wiring around a thin glass or acrilic tube? Would it produce if the tubing was thin enough?

FYI: HV electrolysis works best pulsed. Not full rectified dc.

Ok sorry I saw that in the video, what I was wondering is how you configure the screw to get it to spark. You never show a good view of that screw.
