  • is this a dry recording?

  • @sumvengeance Yes it is with affordable CAD mics, but with post production you can make this sound like a much nicer set.

  • do you ever get that protools problem about the playback engine that the h/w buffer is to large or to small?

i have protools 8 le and i have an mbox and sometimes i cant even just record with one mic because the error messgae pops up

do u think if i get the ultra 8r and protool m-powered and i try to record my drums

i will still have the same problem?

  • @JazzNaySean yes, you have to boost your playback buffer b/c your are using too many plug-ins for the current setting.

  • lol that crash

  • @afiguy123 yea, those are 100% Camber Cymbals. :)

  • @paudiemaguire1 go to m audio official website you can download the driver needed for win 7

  • can i record 8 track simultaneously through USB with out Effecting/having Latency issues .

  • This is the perfect interface for laptops without FireWire! I use it in all my productions.

  • it can be linked on a mac but not pc

  • @snapdaddy357 yeah i reasearched it and unfortunately you cant.

  • Does anyone know if this interface can be linked with another Fast Track Ultra 8r (daisy chained),to double the simultaneous recording inputs?

  • Such a cool interface, i haven't seen the new profire2626 in action yet but i heard the 8r is almost as good. Stop using cad mics! they're horrible. its so much more worth it to wait and buy some sure mics.

    just my opinion

  • you need to reamp if you're just DI the instrument :D

Real question now, how would you say this perfoms in a proper studio environment?

  • hey man, i want to buy this but i have a question. why are people in shops telling me that usb 2 cant handle more than 4 tracks of simultaneous inputs. i want to record 8 for a kit ect.... everyone seems to be telling me that firewire is the only way because its a reliable steady flow of information and usb is only burst speed. why is everyone saying this as obviously if companys are making these products its more than capable of handling the load, especially as usb is its only connector ?

  • @bassman50fender I'm pretty sure this guy got it wrong with respect to preamps. According to M-AUDIO's site, this has a preamp on all 8 inputs (with M-AUDIO's Octane technology)
