The bit I love about this video is the only time the crowd get excited is when John pulls out to the outside to go the long way round, just goes to show what a top lad John is... Probably the cleanest driver in the class, and the following he has says enough about his character...

the gears look wierd; he set off and to change into 2nd he pushed lever forward?
I know they have only 2 gears but whats that about?
have they swapped the positions of 1st and 2nd?

They don't currently race at aghadowey but talk it may be brought back!! Portadown is closed completely now. Yeah ormond won world final 5 times, Johns record to date is 6th and a 3rd. They normally race friday night ballymena or sat night nuttscorner!! nationalhotrod(dot)com for dates!!

Great video. Is this Orman Christie's son? I used 2 go 2 Aghdowey way back in the 80's & have been 2 a few big races in Ballymena too. Just wondering if they still race at Aghadowey and Portadown now.

I think it is, they race at ballymena and nutts corner now. John's gonna be big in the future

Thanks for the info.... so they dont race at Aghadowey anymore thats a shame! I noticed John's number is the same as Orman Christies (962) which made me think there would be a link.
He looks like one to watch. Orman won the World Championship back in the day he was the first driver from NI to win it. What night do they race in Ballymena and is there a website where I can find race dates?
