IBM's Virtual Education Center on User Technology Island presented by the Extreme Blue Team (Part 1)

The BladeCenter Serviceability Pavilion demonstrates the ease of servicing a product in a 3D, interactive manner by walking visitors through step-by-step instructions that teach service scenarios using realistic models with detailed, 3D parts. The virtual center offers a viable and cost-saving alternative to existing training methods.

The Retail Design and Test Center is a virtual space that enables customers to experience the look and feel of a product under development as well as the opportunity to interact with IBM designers and give face to face feedback.

The Virtual Education Center acknowledges the new generation of learners by developing a virtual space equipped with interactive learning activities. In one activity, a larger-than-life SAN Volume Controller helps users understand where a SAN Volume Controller is located within an IT infrastructure and how it interacts with the other infrastructure components. In another activity, users learn how their physical storage can be pooled into customized virtual storage and the benefits of virtualized storage.
