TKD: Three Board break (loose)

I had the honor of watching an instructor demonstration (5th DAN) last Sunday during a belt test.

To break three boards with a turning hook kick is already hard, but this demonstration adds another layer of difficulty. Usually boards are held very strongly so all the force of the kick gets applied to the boards.
In this case the boards are barely held on the top and bottom, and there is even space between the boards!!
If you don't hit the boards extremely fast and precisely they will just fly away instead of breaking. If you watch the video closely you can see that fragments of the broken boards fly all the way to the other end of the room!
