Just sharing what I know...
This virus disables some services which is why you can't access security sites.
Status of Auto Update Service should be "Automatic" and Startup Type should be "Started"
Background Intelligent Transfer Service should be "Manual" and "Started"
Stop DNS Client Service if you still can't access security sites after changing the status of "Auto Update and Background Intelligent Transfer Service"

Agent349 - There re thousands of malicious sites that crop up every day, so basic protection is a must and common sense. Few viruses or malare will destroy a drive, but there are those that can modify data, change desktops etc. but they are soon found and blacklisted :-)

@un211 - NO. If you had Conficker you would know it . Stick with the normal scanners, Malwarebytes Free, SUperantisyware etc - if you don't have any apparent problem then leave well alone :-)

I have a question. Ur a pro and i was wondering if you could find out if spyhunter is a rouge or a legit antivirus. They have a youtube account called enigmasoftware. They're ads are pretty aggresive. I mean wow. I think its adware but many users say its pretty good. so yeah. WOT gives it a yellow. Also enigma has been featured on i think, ABC, or CBS. Well I hope you take my rewuest!

Danerd9 - SpyHunter! I'm one of those who rated it on WOT for is aggressive marketing techniques and also being very close to being a rogue application. Enigma has a name as bad as Paretologic, and SpyHunter is regarded as a dangerous application :-)

i know!!! i've seen the WOT comments and now they're red. they have a lot of ads on their youtube channel!! :S scary........ It was onced marked as a rouge!!! but the comapny insisted it was safe. you're right its as bad as PAretologic and cyberdefender.
