  • "bom dia" I am from toronto, canada and I am half portuguese and italian I speak both languages. I noticed when you said "bom dia" you pronounced it with a brasilian accent. Proper portuguese it is not pronounced like that.

  • @wopchop99 Correct. This is Brazilian Portuguese. The dialect I use is from Rio de Janeiro also called Carioca. It is one of the most understandable accents to Brazilian ears cuz most part of the media for TV and radio are produced there. I didn't put Brazilian Portuguese as a main title cuz the language of the country is registered like Portuguese. For example, when you buy a grammar in Brazil the title is Gramática da Língua Portuguesa but not Língua Brasileira.

  • i love portuguese. it is such a beautiful language! i have a question though. i am a girl and i was wondering when i say thank you to other people, do i say 'obrigado, or obrigada' ?
