News 12 New Jersey: Formula One could come to New Jersey (October 24, 2011)

(10/24/11) WEEHAWKEN - Formula One racing could soon be coming to the Garden State.
A press conference is scheduled for tomorrow in Weehawken, but the Wall Street Journal is reporting that Formula One will make its way to New Jersey in 2013.

According to the newspaper, the London-based racing circuit will announce the Formula One Grand Prix of America will take place in June 2013 on a road course mapped out in Weehawken and West New York along the Hudson River.

The West New York and Weehawken mayors reportedly released a joint statement earlier saying they were in talks with a group of investors about the race.

this is why f1 will never work in the US.

1st of all, all the people interviewed in this vid (yes all 2 of them) were complaining about the economy. f1 doesn give a shit about the economy - more money, the better. this won't go down well with the people that occupying wall street

2nd, US people dont understand f1 (history, glamour, technology etc)

3rd, f1 doesn need the US, it has done fine over the years when it hasn been there, it is just MrE getting more money to pay 4 his daughters wedding
