  • Some 3M double sided emblem mounting tape works well also. ☺

  • @viggoM35 Yes, though over time the 3M tape loses it's tackyness and you might then have your plate come off.. For temporary use it should be fine, though, this depends on how spirited a driver you are ;-)

  • @starlord Are you kidding me??? The 3M decal double sided tape is so strong you have to use a heavy chemical remover to get it off. I'm NOT talking about the the cheap stuff you see at Walmart or a auto parts supply store. You usually have to special order it or go to a body/paint shop.

  • @viggoM35 ah yes, I was thinking of the "cheap stuff", not body/paint shop materials, thanks for the clarification :)

  • btw where do get this set?

  • @JaanLewaa As the video shows at the start, one place is GoMiniGo's website :)

  • @starlord I usually drive with no front plate anyhow, and never get harassed about it. ☺

  • looks cool n a lot better than hours n painful job of installing other plate locator

  • @starlord Interesting! I've seen lots of these lashed to the deck on the car ships, but I never really considered that the eyes might be used for any other purpose.

  • @Nupetiet Good question! On page 279 of the 08 smart (451 model) manual it is referred to as a "Towing Eye Bolt" of which there are 3 threaded holes (1 at the front, for being towed, and 2 at the rear bumper, for towing). However, for safety reasons, recovery or lashing down of the vehicle with the towing eye alone is not recommended. It's better to use proper towing straps and/or a tow bar instead. With some force the towing eye can be ripped out of it's mounting which would be a bad thing! :)
