The tools needed are usually sold with the LCD screen.
You can find a cheap OEM LCD on eBay for about $10 including shipping.

  • do u know the silver housing you put on 1:06 CAN you put your old one back on, if so how? or do you have to buy a new one?

  • @krazykuri2010 That little silver housing thing is not really important as such - but its there to keep the screen connector plugged in I guess.

It clips off and on very easily - you can use the existing one - no need to buy a new one.

  • Can you upload a pic of the chip of black plastic?

  • Thanks for upload, fixed my phone today

  • thanks mate this vid really helped!! :)

  • @flylxy Got it...thanks x

  • @flylxy are u sure that is nothing bad in usig the existing one?I want to change my display:)

  • Done it! It was easier than I expected. However, a bit of black plastic fell out from inside the phone somewhere and I have no idea where it came from. It's a black piece of plastic, looks a bit like a clip of some sort.

The phone seems to operate fine without it though.

  • Thank you so much, you've hopefully saved me a lot of hassle. I'll be attempting this in a couple of days.
