In high school I thought it would be a great idea to join the National Guard; thinking it would be a positive experience that would lend unparalleled hands-on training and not to mention a flawless plan for paying off any and all college expenses.

Several continents and a 15 month combat tour later I found myself back at Kansas State University finishing up degrees in both Cultural Anthropology and Electronic Media Production. I'm now 25 years old, still in the National Guard and serving as the Broadcast NCOIC (noncommissioned officer in charge) for the 105th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment. My duties there consist of; coordinating and producing news stories, commercials, and other visual information projects for Guard units all across Kansas.

Along with this, I also co-own a video production business, that creates a multitude of media projects for local businesses.

I have also recently been working with a group of individuals trying to launch a fledgling company -- producing content for musicians.

As for me personally, I've used nearly every video format imaginable in my past experiences, from 3/4 U-Matic up to Blu-Ray. Although mainly self-taught in editing and design, I have had extensive formalized training in; Video Maintenance and Repair, EDL Management, Advanced Color Correction, and even a number of classes in Avid editing.

My true passion in videography is to create projects that make people think. With the ever increasing momentum of technology just about anyone can pick up a camera, shoot some high quality video, edit it together, and post if for the world to see. The key component that I think a lot of people overlook is the story. Can you tell a story? Can you create something visually that lingers in people's minds hours after they watch your creation.

It's about continuity, it's about creativity, it's about ingenuity, it's about individuality.
