@woodkerne Abu Graib looked like a goofy college fraternity compared to Saddam's torchure chambers, and it wasn't even reflective of the entire US military.
-
Saddam's last words were "There is no god but Allah and Muhammad was his prophet", while he was being hung. He also gave financial support to Islamic terrorists.
-
@SpellboundSolution Not to mention having a copy of the Quran written in what was proportedly his own blood...

@woodkerne Only the leftists at the very bottom of society believe that. Anyone who is worth anything (from your elite to ours) knew that Hussein's secularization had come to an end and he was regaining his popularity by reestablishing his Islamist credentials. Everything from cracking down on immorality to supporting suicide bombers, to funding Mosques at an accelerated rate. Allowing Islamists into the country.
He USED to secularize. If you dont know that, then give up. Just give up.
-
@woodkerne That explains why he added "God is Greatest" to the Iraq flag on January 14, 1991. Bloody secularist!
Moron.

I have seldom in my life seen a less honest 'documentary' than this. The lies are dripping out of most of the talking heads. Saddam detested radical Islamists, his Iraq was completly secular with equal rights for women. A lot of the accusations that people make against him, torture prisons, executions etc was how he dealt with Islamist extremists. After the Iraq war the Islamist forces were set free to cause terror. Americas response? Same as Saddams... Abu Graib, torture, destruction and death

@ultraviolet99 he was a marxist

A Trotskyist was a communist but a follower of Trotsky, not Stalin. Trotsky felt that war with capitalism was necessary for communism to survive in the USSR. Stalin supported the idea of "socialism in one country."
To the detail in the info column; Hitchens is not a former Communist, he was a Trotskyist.

Well, I could have used this documentary when I was outed as a 'fascist thug' for my support of the Iraq war during my A-level philosophy classes. Hitchens is as erudite as ever, but the other talking heads are just as interesting. Thank you for uploading.
