Cousin Pearl decides that it's time to take her best shot at getting Mr. Brewster to propose to her. When her effort fails Jed has a talk with Mr. Brewster to propose a plan to let him off the hook and also save the family's honor. The plan turns into quite a theatrical production with unexpected results.

@GJNCA You're right about Ryan and Baer but, in my opinion, Ryan was the most overlooked. She was as essential to the show as Buddy Ebson. This show had a great run until the network decided it wanted more "sophisticated" programing. That decision may have tolled the beginning of the end for classic television.
