In 2009, more than 50 people have died at the hands of a lover or spouse in North Carolina. Those who survive violent domestic relationships, carry it in their spirits forever. Domestic Violence: Healing Through Spoken Words is a filmic documentary dedicated to honoring their stories and transforming their suffering and recovery into a parable and lesson for viewers. In Domestic Violence: Healing Through Spoken Words, new film producer and director, Leslie Cunningham, invites a compelling cast of Durham, North Carolina poets and musicians to share their catharsis and tell the stories of domestic violence as a warning from survivors and call for healing.
