NewVID: ONDOY - Trapped TKD kids escaping rising flood

Hundreds of children and parents trapped in the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Cars, SUVs left to submerge along the streets, people wading waters with threats of being sucked by open manholes, floating styros for transport, no visible government rescue activities--maybe they were somewhere else helping those in more perilous conditions.

Yes, thank God, we are fortunate to have survived the worst flood in Philippine history...or we ain't seen the worst yet?

Out of curiosity, why would people take their kids to a TKD tournament when they know there's a big typhoon hitting Luzon?

We asked the same question and just like everyone, we underestimated the storm. It's really quite easy to throw blames on anybody , especially the organizers who really stroked us to not miss the event, but it's now a lesson learned that "indomitable spirit" in the tenets of taekwondo is not violated when we back out of the tournament whenever a storm hovers around. Yah it was not worth the risk. Flood cost us an SUV for being too committed.

I looked but I found in the midst of the trash beautiful people instead :)

And though in the cleanest of places I have been from, there's a kind of trash I smell in the hearts of some people that remain more evil than the trash strewn across the streets of Manila.

True. But had it not been due to that spectacular floating raft held on the sides by six fantastic men clamoring us to hop into their so far perfect one-hundred-meter dash trips, we could have let others outbid us to take on our moment to ride. What moved us to not deny them our unwavering belief to bring us to a different place where our children's hungry pangs could also be relieved somewhere else was when no one else was vending out food in the stadium anymore. We ended finding a nice hotel.

indekasyon lng at paalala lng toh sa unang panahong pangyayari,.....biblicaly speaking yung great floods with noah,nagwlang bahala ang tao,naging sobra busy sa kung ano anong bagay,mabuti man o masama,8 person lng ang nakaligtas kasama c noah,.....ngaun pagsalanta ni ondoy halos ganito rin ,busy sa pagtapun ng kung anoano basura,trabahung matino at kagaguhan,.....buti na lng 9 hrs lng baha kung nagkataun lucky ulit ang 8 person to be save!

people should remember that, the water their in is contaminated with all the crap on the streets. kaya meron nakasulat na 'bawal umihi dito' so when it floods they dont have to swim in their piss and the canals in the streets are very dirty.... :(

its horrible what thi storm did n all that flooding.. i have a big phramacy n i donated a lot of condoms n contraceptive pills so less people wud suffer next time.. kawawa naman ang mga bata especially of the poor.. if they had not been born they wud not need to suffer like this...

this is not the time to blame anyone..we just need to help each other out for the time being..we have to pray for everyone's safety..especially bec another storm is about to enter again..
