026 - Full Time

Today is the first day I go to work presenting as Alana, and I'm now only identifying as a woman, so I'm full time! My name change is almost official, and has been accepted. I also am happy about health reform, and to be putting the past behind me.

Im not trying to affend you but, why are you doing this? shouldnt you embrace the fact you were born male??

@troy12127 If I could embrace my male body, it would be a lot easier. I may have felt like I wished I was a female for a long time, but I only recently made these changes, after a long time of growth and trying to live as a male or androgynous. I do like the changes I've made, and I think it will make my life more complete.

Hi, Alana. I hope your first day at work went well. Seeing this reminded me so much of when I went FT at work in early 2006 and its really awkward at first. But it does quickly become natural and ordinary. I did become the 'peep-show' for the first few days then like everything else, it lessens and life goes on at work as normal. @Erica2Lives My voice is better, but I have more improvement to do. Going full time allows me to use my feminine voice all the time, so that should help. The rest is mostly having confidence. I will try to do a voice video sometime soon.

@jennjelly Thanks. I would say things are pretty much normal, so I was right in thinking that it wasn't a big change for me, but just an adjustment for others. I do feel good and not too worried most of the time.
