Patagonia ambassadors Tommy Caldwell and Hayden Kennedy set out on a winter attempt of a new alpine route in Alaska's Arrigetch Peaks. They chose winter for a ski approach to this remote backcountry locale. Corey Rich and Dane Henry document the effort that yielded a new 1,300' route by Caldwell, Kennedy and Rich: 511+X, M2 Deep in the Alaskan Bush.

  • Awesome video.

What time of year was this? Late March?

  • This look really sick. If I may, it seems like you guys may have moved a bit more efficiently if you waxed instead of skinned all the flatter terrain.

  • Glad to finally see the footage from this trip.. Saw the beginning of this trip on "Flying Wild Alaska" not that long ago!

  • Rad trip - glad it worked out!
