I don't know why you's are bickering, My brother and Dad both Para Reg, me I went 9 Squadron, i'm proud of that and they where proud of me. I aint and never was Para Reg, one thing we all had in common, Airborne! And without a doubt the Parachute Regiment are the best trained Airborne soldiers on the planet!

PORKYPARA my son. ive just tried to look at Badger0987's profile and the account has been shut down. What a fucking tool!!
Anyway sunshine, Respect from one old sapper to a younger one. My eldest boy is in 33 Armd Engr Sqn in Afghan at the moment. Youngest boy joining the Medical Corps in May 09. It doesnt matter what job you do in the Army. The fact that you are in British Army says it all. Everyone is an expert in whatever they do. Everyone relies on each other.
Regards
Glen Wilson

my dad was 9 para and was a top class soldier, good as they come. he had mates both enigneers and para reg and they all respected him cause he could outrun any one of them over a 20 miler. I'm 591 now till I get the oppurtunity to try for 299 and yeah i know you para reg guys think you're the dogs bollcoks and everyone else must be shit but there are plenty of good guys throuughout the army and big respect to them all. R.I.P dad - Ubique

@bigndaft1821 if you are 3 para then I wouldv'e thought you to be smart enough to realise that without 9 para you guys couldn't move live or fight. They do build the bridges, they clear IED's, they put in the electrics, the water supply you guys need out in afghan. And they do go out on patrol with 2 and 3 para also... the whole rivalries thing is plain stupid as we're all on the same side fighting the talibs.

@sapperash They also have combat engineers and no sappers cannot do what para reg do. You are taught very basic infantry skills that all armed forces personnel are required to know. There is nothing special about what you do that others cannot. If para reg were trained to paint, weld etc then they could do your job. I think what gets peoples back up is the fact that when asked what u are u all say 9 sqn or 59 commando which is a unit name u are all Royal Engineers so be proud of it!
Your all a bunch of hats since you left the Shot, Media posers the lot of ye.
When I was there we didn't have camera's on site we didn't have to prove Fk all that was for just for the RHA pretenders.
Ubique ya BASS the few from 9 Ind Para

@DonnyMacG
As tough as the Sqn of 60s70s80s90s were apart from the Falklands they did not exacly see much real action and I dont mean this as an insult just stating a fact.
The morden day Squadron has seen action in Kosov,Iraqi and Afganistan and proven its self ever time.The fact they may have taken pictures to record what they did so what.
Anyway,the Squadron bar in Aldershot had loads of pictures on display taken of Squadron blokes from all over so some old boys must have had cameras!

No 2 Commando were just the first troops to be selected for para training,the para reg was made up of troops from all of the British army.
FROM A PARA REG WEBSITE-These volunteers were originally drawn from all arms of the service, but were later taken only from members of the Household Brigade and the infantry of the line. Direct enlistment into the Regiment was introduced in 1953 .
All this was done by Major John Rock RE.
3 para mortars,still a bit risky to bend over in the showers LOL
