Romney Refuses To Classify Waterboarding As Torture

During tonight's CNN/YouTube debate, Mitt Romney refused to classify waterboarding as torture, and said he would have to instead consult with his national security adviser, Blackwater's Cofer Black.

Do you think we are 100% retarded? What kind of answer is that with regards to torture? You say you will not be in favor of torture in any way, shape, or form, but you won't say what is or what is not torture. What kind of answer is that? I can only take that to mean you would use torture techniques. Good job McCain! Your answer on torture was the smartest thing you said the entire debate. Atleast you're a nice war hawk.

put Romney under water boarding 200 times 40+ seconds each like they did to that 9/11 suspect. be assured, he would confess to being the mastermind for every genocide, destruction or negative impact done to human life on earth. it might not leave any physical long term damage, but it does enormous psychological destruction, and will remain with the person for his or her whole life. there really is no difference between this and physical torture.

I'm here trying to find out, in 2012, whether Romney is for or against waterboarding, and this is all I could find. Unreal.

It's not like waterboarding is some secret tactic that, if revealed, will reduce its effectiveness. Nor is it something that the government will really be able to hide from us, if it is considered illegal. It's not about 'what tactics he would use,' but 'is it legal or not.'

Romney's known for not taking sides on any tough issue. I'm sorry, but it's true.
