In the mountains of the Cordilleras, the chanting of the epic Hudhud which depicts the history of the Ifugao people continues to live on. But while there are efforts by different sectors to prevent the calming voices of the traditional chanters from finally fading out , there are now only less than a hundred senior Hudhud chanters in the region. In an effort to further preserve this rich oral tradition in the Cordilleras, this video was prepared by the U.S. Embassy Manila using the 2007 Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation, in cooperation with the Philippine National Commission for Culture and the Arts.

  • It is amazing to find these on youtube!

  • Nice and commendable work but kindly edit some errors in the labels such as "Banaue Rice Terraces" for Ifugao Province and "provinces" for municipalities/towns.

  • ang galing. :D
