  • All they need to do was dye his hair it is a simple fix and it is kind of important I do not see how hair color would limit their pool of actors I know that Viserys and Daenyrus had to do it why can't Mark Addy

  • @PhumDuck His hair is dark brown. So is that of the actors playing Renly and Gendry. It doesn't matter whether the hair is brown or black, because both genes are dominant. As long they aren't blond, it really truly does not matter, concerning the plot.

  • @stevethepirate78

Actually it's not like that. I have a big family where golden hair and dark brown hair mix - and often blond hair in childhood turns brown after adolescence for example.

And sometimes difference between brown and blond is clear only in certain light. Opinion may differ even watching unwashed and clean hair of the very same person!

While difference between BLACK and blond is - evident.

  • @kriimuline Google the genetics involved. Brown is dominant to blond. Always. Now, there can be mixing, because there are recessive genes and cross hybrids, but Gendry, Renly and Robert all in the show have solid dark brown hair. No mixed in blond, no towheads turning dark as they get older. (I actually have that kind of hair, blond turned to light brown as I got older.) The color is dominant, and serves the same function as black.

  • 1:00 "Promise me, Ned."

  • Two wondrous characters played not better than by two legendary actors.

    "Thank the Gods for Bessie"

  • @crimsontowers why would you post a ton of spoilers? don't be an asshole. I'm deleting your post.

  • @kriimuline That's because the brown haired people in your family are Heterozygotes, if one parent is Homozygote dominate then all the children will show the dominate trait.

If the genetics were as simple as black (or brown) haired people have black (or brown) haired children, it wouldn't have been much of a mystery for Ned to solve.

  • @Dianeva89 It would be a pretty expensive joke.

  • Or is it? Love this clip :)

  • Every Game of Thrones video has a "Hodor" joke in the comments.

  • @lenasluna Not likely. We won't know Jon's parentage until the last book I bet.
