A video made in honor of an amazing young man, my 23 year old nephew Jason. Jason survived two tours of duty in Iraq with the US Army, only to come home and die in a tragic accident. On Sunday evening, June 8th, 2008, Jason jumped from a rope swing into the Sac River in Caplinger Mills, MO and drowned due to a deadly undertow. He absolutely loved the water and was an excellent swimmer, but he never stood a chance as he was pulled under three times in a couple of minutes, never breaking the surface long enough to get any air. A complete stranger dove into the water to pull Jason out and started CPR, but he could not be saved.

Less than two weeks after his tragic drowning, the tree to which the rope swing was attached has been completely cut down to prevent this from ever happening in this spot again. Too little too late for Jason, but perhaps this action may prevent a similar tragedy in that spot on the river.

On June 14th, 2008 Jason was laid to rest in Springfield, MO beside his brother Steven who was killed June 9th, 2003 in a car wreck. There are several photos of a "younger" Jason with a younger dark haired boy, that is Steven.

Our sweet, funny, smart, handsome and loving Jason, you live on forever in our hearts and fond memories.

  • I hope all who view my video take the time to give those they love and care about that extra hug, that "I love you" that perhaps they've never said before...take time to make time....as when you lose someone you love, it's too late to make up for lost time.

    God Bless

  • @RLTW27 I am from Iraq you bitch, guys like him went to war, because they were not capable of finding a normal job,my family was drafted by force to wars under Saddam, that your gov put in Iraq and after 23 years of misery, lets take him down and bring more misery to Iraq, what did the American public benefit from the wars, especially the Iraqi war, nothing but debt and death, check your self,1million Iraqis dead because of the war.

  • This came as an absolute shock to me as I just found out about Jason today. Im SFC Neil Fletcher and Jason was my Soldier in Iraq. If any of the family would like I have a few photos of him from Iraq and would be more than happy to email them. Please contact me here and let me know. My most sincere condolences to all his family and friends for such a tragic tragic loss. That kid was the life blood of the American Paratrooper. Absolutely shocked...

  • @2paclove2

You pathetic sack of shit, He was MY Soldier in Iraq. I can assure you and everyone that he never killed any innocent people. Period. Guys like that made it possible for "humans" like you to sit behind the anonymity and freedom of the internet here in America and type your disgusting cowardly comments. Guys like that weren't afraid to stand up and do something meaningful with their life rather than sit at home and troll the internet.

  • Fuck your nephew,he probably killed some innocent people in Iraq, hahah Karma is a bitch aint it?
