The NXEC "Highland Chieftain" service from London to Inverness departs from Kingussie station on the evening of 29th December 2008. Filmed from the station footbridge; Kingussie signal box is visible on the right.
Kingussie still has semaphore signals and you can see one on the left which drops once the train has passed.

  • I never realised HSTs run on the Highland main line. I always thought they went via Aberdeen.

    If they went via Aberdeen that would slightly negate the point of the HS bit of an HST!
