(this is completely my opinion. it may not be completely right)
0.51: "i will fight the loss/ dead inside"- he's already emotionally fatigued and numb. and dead implies that he has no will left to do much. like, giving up on life :x
0.59: "into the nothing" might mean death? (that's just my opinion) and "i know we can make it out alive" suggests that he's trying to convince himself (and someone else) that they're going to live on.

1.40: "but i'll get by" and "follow the hopeless/and shut your eyes" show that he has already given up. he's closing his eyes to the world, to everything that matters. but he'll "get by", which means he'll live on. which is kind of related to the suicide thing.
"say goodbye"- i think it's a figurative meaning, more like saying goodbye to his sanity and past happiness, because he closes himself and cuts himself from the world

1.50: "gather the broken and leave this life/ lying in the earth/ side by side" he's thinking of death.
2.24: "where i lead you cannot follow"- i think he's talking about death.
"straight into the light/ as my breath grows still and shallow" he's dying.
3.09: "i know we can make it out alive" he's still hoping he'll make it through.
he alternates between giving up and deciding to live on throughout the entire song, which is why i think the song is about choosing whether or not to live.
