This day marks the three year anniversary of the day that I joined YouTube. And what better way to celebrate it than release a film?

And that film happens to be this: A short Halloween film that I made using my new Quickcam Pro 9000. I still haven't figured out how to film so that I don't get so much annoying light flickering.

I wasn't going to make a Halloween film this year because I didn't have much free time. But I've managed to make one Halloween film for every year that I've been animating: 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and now 2009. This time I couldn't come up with a good idea that was also very short (a problem that I have all the time), so my sister, Emily, suggested the idea of this film. So I made it.

I think this film has the most special effects in it compared to its run time of any film I've made yet. It's only three and a half minutes, but I had many effects that I've never even tried before; such as the flying geese (THAT took me quite a while to do) and the ticking clock.

Also, if the music sounds a little sloppy, it's mainly because I hadn't practice the guitar in several months, and I learned, practiced and recorded this song in an hour. And I've always had trouble playing perfect for the microphone. That mean old microphone!

  • Where did you get flying birds backround?

  • @golfgal90 I made it in the gimp by drawing over a picture of a real goose.

  • You are the #1 best lego animator of the entire globe of all-time.

  • @TheMetalLasers I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm THAT good. Thanks! I'm glad you enjoy my animations.

  • how did u make a the dog??

  • @kostaapessos I sculpted the dog's head out of a polymer clay called Fimo, which hardens when I bake it in an oven.

  • It's an anthropomorphic bulldog!

I'm really digging the colors man!

This captures the essence of how frustrating and time consuming pumpkin carving can be.

Interesting knife. The dog's pumpkin got bigger after it was carved.
