People need to know that you only use fuel when using the throttle but the plane will still fly without throttle so just don't use it when your fuel is low

Actually, that's only true for the PC and XBox versions. The PlayStation 2 version uses fuel all the time, even when not using the throttle.
It was changed when the later platform versions were released.

guys, so many people had a hard time with this....has anyone tried landing the plane near the targets THEN shooting them? Worked for me on 3rd attempt....very easy to shoot, and the targets dont seem to drive away when you land near them. i had trouble with controls too (pc) but could just about fly well enough to get the rc plane to each target, then shoot whilst on the deck. had 75% fuel remaining by end of mission...try it.

That's a very good technique; I use to do that before I learned how to fly properly.
