Over Memorial Day weekend a friend from Scottsdale traveled to town for a training marathon. There were four of us, joined by another friend briefly on Monday for Flyball. We trained from 8 AM until 4 each day - taking breaks for lunch (of course) and having a get together every evening for dinner. It was a lot of work, but also a lot of fun.
Nita Gandara of Paw State U (www.pawstateu.com) organized everything for us - jump work, exercise eggs, tricks, reviewing agility DVDs, rally (AKC and introduction to ASCA), cavalettis, games, obedience, introduction to flyball, goal setting and problem solving and more tricks.
Rusty was always ready to give things a try and enjoyed everything we did. He's a very quick learner and while he can be quite serious at times, he is also quite a character and can be a show off. (If you've got it flaunt it!!)
By Monday at noon we were all exhausted, but had learned more than we thought possible.
Of course we're already planning to do this again next year.
