I first saw FDS at about that age as well and not only did it serve as an early clue that I was NOT supposed to be a boy, it sparked my lifelong passion for acting, singing, dancing and musicals! Then when I saw Ann Margaret singing "How Lovely to be a Woman" in Bye Bye Birdie I could not wait to get the hell out of my male body! The next week I faked a weight trng accident and injury that got me excused from PE and refused to ever again get a haircut
