As requested: "D.R.I.N.K." performed by the Jazz Butcher Conspiracy (featuring Max Eider on vocals) in Kortrijk, Belgium, 16-June-2002. I shot this while traveling with the band on their 20th anniversary tour.
This was not an 'official' gig by any means. Our host in Belgium had asked the band if they would do an afternoon show at one of his favorite haunts, and they were happy to oblige.
It was a restaurant/bar with a beautiful garden. Patrons & waitstaff mill about. It was a gorgeous summer night, and a truly lovely setting for an incredibly memorable show. Enjoy.

  • Seriously - the crowd was sitting down? Who are these people??

  • To be fair...here was the scenario:

The band had an 'official' gig the next day in the town square. The gentleman who had organized the gig was an old friend of the band's. He asked if they wouldn't mind doing a set at his favorite pub, which the band happily agreed to do... So the people who were there had not come to see a band specifically. And the backyard was all tables & chairs so it was set up to be a sit-down affair.

That said, it was one of my favorite of their gigs.

  • Perhaps the simpler answer to "Who are these people" would be "Belgians".

  • if Max ever said anything truer, I don't know what it was.

I hope I never get dry before I get old.

  • cool!

  • One of the best JBC tunes. Ever. Sonically, a treat and a half. Visually...

  • Why would you stand? That is like the people who stand at a Spacemen 3 concert! Sit down and enjoy!

  • Thanks for posting this. I went to UCSB from '87 - '91 and this was usually the last song we listened to before passing out. Brings back great memories. Thanks again.
