Bass Trap - and this is not the edited version as you can find on the 1980-1990 B-Sides - has been released on the "The Unforgettable Fire" single in 1985.

I always wanted to listen to the full version of this song so I searched and searched and searched for ages... Was really hard to find. o.O Seems like I really have a predilection for songs of the Unforgettable Fire Era (yeah, I adore this record so much!).

Everytime I listen to this song makes me think of lying in a flower meadow on a warm day in spring. I dunno why, but that must me the reason why I love this song so much and I decided to decorate it with pictures taken with my beloved but now broken Photosmart R707 :'( miss it.

Anyways, enjoy ^^

  • wow where did you get that version from? thats much longer then the b sides bonus disc version

  • on "The Unforgettable Fire" single. It was so hard to find... I was searching for ages for that but I hope they'll re-release it someday on a B-Side CD, like they are doing now with Boy, War and October.

  • A short version of Bass Trap was also on the Unforgettable Fire Mini EP (LP) along with The Three Sunrises and Love Comes Tumbling.

  • oh yeah and I always wanted the longer version. the short one is also on the Xanax and Wine CD.

  • This is an absolute masterpeice. People go for Yoga and stuff to meditate. Is there anything better than this...NO!!! U2 saves lives :). One true band that is now a part of my life

(by the way - how are you RotaryFatBoy-gave u thumbs up)

  • Brilliant Peice of music. Actully makes me think of "Unknown Caller" from the new album, you know, both songs remind of of a sunny day, in the park, chilling with a few cold lagers etc...

  • I have liked this song very much since i heard it, it has Dan Lanois writen all over it.

  • This one probably fits more comfortably into Eno's mid-80s catalogue than it does into U2's body of work. Lovely ambient drift redolent of Eno's collaborations with Harold Budd, Michael Brook, Bob Fripp and Jon Hassell.

  • U2 and Brian Eno was one of the best collaborations in music. I even thought Passengers was great!

  • @U2fanBoy100

Yes this version is on the 25th Anniversary Special edition CD

  • This song and Love Comes Tumbling should have been on the full Unforgettable Fire LP.

  • Love this song :) And you pics/video fit the music so well! Beautiful...

  • When I think of this song or listen to it I always picture huge lifetime stress relief while drowning and looking up at the sunny sky underwater just . floating...love this song

  • U2 is a very good popular band, wich doesn't mean they are not good musicians. this song certainly proves their quality
