  • My 8th grade history teacher used to play this cd every single goddamn day while we did our assignments! I still love it though and I listen to it at least once a year :)

  • I first discovered this on New Year while litsening to SCU Classical Music station, I find quite amusing, when I saw it was a vinyl record it reminded me of my godparents.

  • 2:58 HILARIOUS! "Will you get out of here?"

  • CHRIS: I claim this land in the name of Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand of Spain!

    CHIEF: How.

CHRIS: Well, first I stick the flag in the sand and then I--

  • Columbus Discovers America

  • About 1981, when I was ten years old, I attended a marionette show at the Woodrow Wilson Birthplace in Staunton, VA. (It was held in the Visitor's Center Museum next door to the house where W.W. was born.)

The marionette show used Stan Freberg's "United States" album as its soundtrack. The first segment had marionettes of Columbus, Ferdinand, Isabella, and the Indian. It was done on a marionette stage like the one in "Sound of Music." I laughed at the "Columbus Day" and "French horns" jokes.

  • Columbus Discovers America - Stan Freberg

  • One of my all time favorites!
