  • @rbd1966 First off, the enemy isn't going to see their target, they're going to be hit by a wall of light. Secondly, I wouldn't be commenting on how these guys should operate. Especially since a person like Travis Haley has been a special ops operative and private contractor for many years. I'm sure he's put more rounds down range then most people have on this world.

  • @zendredi This is very true, but if I may correct you, it only takes 15 lumens to take away someone's vision.

  • We need more SLAYER!!! in videos like these. Take heed of the official Haley strategic video of disruptive environments;-)

  • Music please

  • @rbd1966"Bad guys" aren't gonna see their targets if their vision has been impaired.

  • @bighitter42 That's not to say that lights shouldn't be used, but they are used to search, discriminate, and acquire sight pictures. Contrary to flashlight companies propaganda, they are most certainly NOT used to blind.

  • @zendredi At Ken Hackathorn's advanced pistol class he takes a "tactical" flashlight and installs it in the target directed straight at the shooters head. Upon the command the shooter turns 180 degrees into the light and engages. Counter to you argument, most people are able to deliver good center mass hits despite being "blinded."

This is why the training community has evolved towards the flashbulb technique of using white light in bursts.

  • @rbd1966 MrUberRoss is sure right and you are sure wrong, so stop being so smug. If the light is bright enough (200+ lumens) and the bad guy's eyes are dilated for darkness, the light is blinding. How do I know? I've been doing this stuff for the last ten years. You wanna enter into a dark room with no visibility? Your family will miss you.

  • Sure.

  • @rbd1966 Actually, the lights that are used in standard issue rifle mounts are bright enough and powerful enough to blind the enemy temporarily, therefore giving you enough time to make the kill while he reacts to the blinding light. I'm pretty sure today's troops are smart enough to realize when the enemy is behind cover, and who or what to fire upon. Trust me when I say I have a tactical flashlight and I can assure you the enemy would be dead before even realizing what was shined in their face
