One of the greatest nights of my life! I was so honored when The Magnificent Men asked me to join them for their reunion shows back in 1983-84. Dave Bupp & The Mag Men really tear up on their 2nd hit single for Capitol Records, "Stormy Weather". This tune has been done countless times by a wide variety of artists from Lena Horne to The Spaniels and many more. But, there were none quite as soul stirring as this version by York & Harrisburg, PA's Magnificent Men.

  • Is it possible to get their brilliant cover of Joe Tex's "Show Me!" I wonder?

  • @pyannaguy I do have "Show Me" on video tape from the same 1983 show. Perhaps I'll do a digital transfer and post it soon. I appreciate you tuning in & thanx 4 your request.

  • wow! I've been waiting for 40 years to see them live. I'm from Western Pa and our band was modeled after them even though we only were able to hear "Mag Men Live". Still one of my favorite albums of all time. Thanks for the memories.

  • You're welcome. So glad you enjoyed it. Thanx 4 tuning in.

  • Is that Buddy (Adrian) on the lead?

  • Actually, that's Dave Bupp on most of the lead. Buddy King sings the middle section ("Well, since you went away, the blues walked in & met me", etc.) and he's standing next to Dave (in the blue light).

  • I hate To Say This, But Ron Gittman was our manager during our hay day. And Oh what a

crappy manager he turned out to be!!

  • i believe booby jay managed this group during thier hay day

  • Great - but not a good as seeing them live at the Raven in Harrisburg. Anyone remember them as the house band and opening act for Billy Stewart, O Jays, Martha & the Vandellas, etc. Real talent in those days, no posers like today..

  • Love The Mag Men! Performances like this and the others are the reason The Mag Men's music is played on my radio show. If a young Teddy Pendergrass and Sylvester Stallone liked them, you know that have to be good!
