Hi, Matt...thx. for another great vid. Any tips on hunting diamonds after a suspected area may have been found? I'm up here in Wyoming, BTW, lot of those G-10 garnets where I'm looking. Sift the creek/river bottom with a 1/8" classifier, etc.? With that low specific gravity, guess maybe they could've carried anywhere, not for sure...thx. again for everything.

@hammerheadwyo : For diamonds with normal equipment, you'll need to put a few sluiceboxes together into a long tom running relatively flat, and slow. The idea is pretty much the reverse of gold mining - you want to sift the materials very slowly and catch most of everything for a look. The materials you bag and take home can then be run over a grease plate (diamonds stick to grease). You can also walk the bars out there with a florescent light (I've found a couple that way). I'm moving to fort collins CO soon, any tips on an amateur who wants to look for diamonds in the state line area?

I would look for all the articles Dan Hausel has penned on the subject for the USGS. When you get situated, take a run up to Laramie to the USGS office at the university campus and pull the publications he has written. There is much info on the area and locations of kimberlite. Good luck!

very cool video, and the music is right on :) adding to my fav, im actually going on the road in dec, to do some metal detecting and gold mining/treasure hunting , ive thought about heading to the east and trying a few old gold houses/towns :)
