Is there a add-on for standard imperial units? I understand it is metric only.

I've been enjoying using FreeCAD on linux. (My attempt to add a link makes youtube crash. awesome.)

It's not perfect but it does an acceptable job of parametric modeling, allowing stuff like solid boolean modeling or sketch/extrude/pocket modeling, and allows for full python scripting should you wish. It exports STL's and STEP files. It's a work in progress, but it's fairly easy to use.
