I choose PC because I am an actual computer user.
I want a computer to WORK not just look good.
and to avoid people who feel that just because a mac is white and square and costs $5,000 it somehow makes them better than everyone.

A Mac was my first computer. I just didn´t feel like having Windows. And besides, you get iMovie, iPhoto (iTunes you could get for Windows) and all the others. And Macs are almost virus-free, too.

I chose because all PC's looks like crap..

@LethalJizzle Network problems are related to your network provider. When programs throw up errors are compatability issues due to hardware and drivers if everything is up to date you should have no problems at all. Macs do crash frequently my gf has a 27" imac it crashes all the time and she gave it to her brother. last thing u said are related to again hardware and drivers and yes mac user have had said the same thing just tupe in youtube "mac sucks" or "mac problems" you'd be surprised.

@LethalJizzle Network connection problems are just that your network meaning whoever is your internet provider. Programs that throw up errors are compatability problems memory how many programs are being used. Macs do crash my gf has a 27inch imac that crashed so many times that she keep unplugging the cord which i later found out didn't recomend but if she didn't do it it would never shutdown. last thing that u said nothing last forever. It all readdy depends on your HARDWARE.

i own both. Sometimes, the pc gets random problems. I.e. the network connection at my university just wont connect, certain programs throw up errors, if a program crashes it still runs in task manager as a process so i need to stop it manually before i can start it again. Macs arnet resistant to crashing like some people claim, but they certainly do it less, and run MUCH smoother. Every pc user has had that ''it worked fine yesterday and now it wont" thing, i doubt many mac users have.

not to mention, the hardware on most lower to mid end models (which still cost over 1000 bucks) are over 3 years old.

operating system aside, the hardware of a mac is nothing special. for $600 you could get a pc that was on par with a mac, the only thing you pay for in a mac is the case itself because of the materials (currently since it's machined aluminum last I heard) and you can always hackintosh a pc using an osx disc bought from a store and get the same thing for less money. as far as the mac os it looks really nice and I've not nothing against it, just the overcharging apple does on the hardware

Why would you DOWNGRADE to a mac? Office work will now not be easy anymore....

depends on how rich you are...and how patient...
i´ve bought a powerbook once (expensive as hell)
guess how long it took that i could get a better mac in ibook format?
i´ve learned from that, that´s why my next notebook will be an ordinary macbook! the cheapest macbook in two years propably will be much better in performance than the most expensive macbook pro in our days...i guess
