Norton 500cc Lowboy 1961 works replica

In 1961 The Norton racing department made the Lowboy Racer . Based on the Dominator 500cc twin in a similar but lower frame than the Manx .
Ray Breingan from New Zealand now makes the replica frame kits . His bike is very fast as you can see in the video . Mods to the old motor are steel crankshaft modern light weight pistons longer con rods and very special camshaft .
Ray has a good day when he sees his Norton win a race against Manx Nortons at Manfield New Zealand.

I like how these guys are practical. Like using a cheaper magnetic Smiths tach instead of pissing away dollars on an ATRC or chronometric. All business. $15K for a race-bike that puts away Manx racers worth two or three times more is cheap and funny. Of course if you don't do the fab yourself like these guys do you won't be able to do it.....

What kind of magneto is on that bike? Is it a Lucas SR2 rotating magnet job like they put on Royal Enfield twins in the late fifties? Or maybe one of the fairbanks based mags from the USA that shops like Joe Hunt adapted to everything in sight?
