Check/see the VH1 "Behind the Music" video documentary. It was apparently about Danny trying to help manage the band trying to protect their interest and the band members just wanted him to "be the drummer". Still....I think it was a mistake firing him.

oh, I'm sorry, I had heard that and assumed it was true. Thank you for setting me straight. I'd rather know what really happened.

No, on both counts. He wasn't into drugs and Tris wasn't "the backup drummer".
-
Not to be disagreeable. He was one of the few in Chicago NOT doing drugs. The rest of the group said he'd lost his chops. Danny says they didn't appreciate his lectures against their drug use.

Peter hit an amazing Eb above high C on that first "I'd rather be content". I think that's the highest I've ever heard him sing in full voice (i.e. not falsetto).

i have no idea but man he was a monster.i did hear he's playing again though
You are the Man!! I love this video-especially the REAR view of Peter! HOT!
Oh, he also plays a mean bass. Thanks for bringing me back!

This is for md65000 (from 1 year ago).
The note that Pete sings on "content" is the highest of the notes that the horn section is singing in the background at that point.
