I am impressed that the Republicans, normally known for shunning those different from them, would embrace Senator Collins. I am not talking about rumors of her sexuality. I am referring to her enormous speech impediment. This gives hope to all those out there who look funny and speak awkwardly.

Yup. I read today how now she's trying to cast herself as a moderate, but that her voting record says she's solidly in Bush's 25% camp - WAY out of today's mainstream. If Bush doesn't cancel the elections, she's history.
