Rogue wave in Sayulita, Mexico

Video of a rogue wave that nearly ended the vacation of myself, brother, and stepdad a bit early. Was filming the coast, then suddenly Manuel the captain gunned the motor, and all of the sudden we were ascending the monster swell to avoid being crushed from the side. The bulk of the video then shows the wave from behind as it reached the shore. If he hadn't quickly powered the boat straight up the swell, we would have surely been toast. Not as big as the cruise ship one, but this was at least 30 feet.

Visited Sayulita earlier this Nov, and wondered how high do the waves usually get? They seem much bigger than at Bucerias. And yet, there is a great swimming beach in town too. What maneuver did your skipper actually do, to avoid being swamped?
