Sam Downey's Wish - Day In a Veyron

Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses. Since being established in the UK in 1986, they have granted over 5,700 wishes.

There are 20,000 children and young people living in the UK with a life-threatening illness.
In 2010, around 1,000 children will turn to them to have their special wish granted.
They want to grant a magical wish to every one of these...and more!
Because they believe a wish can transform a child's life.

Sam was suffering from BAL, a rare form of leukemia. His wish was to have a ride in a Bugatti Veyron, and he absolutely loved every minute of it! Sadly, just 6 days after this, Sam passed away.

It was fantastic that he got an opportunity to do this, as he was car mad, it was such a great thing for him to do. And I'd like to thank Make-A-Wish and the Teenage Cancer Trust for all that they did for him, on behalf of everyone who knew Sam.

Sam was my nephew. He died only 6 days after this was filmed. He would have been awestruck to know that over 8000 people had watched his video.
