@darbet83 - I used to think likewise until I practiced some karate with other karate schools and began to appreciate what they were trying to do. Some regard the last 2 moves in Heian Sandan as defence against a rear grab. In Goju Ryu kata Seiunchin you can see similar moves in neko ashi dachi & using their butt as well their arms. I've also discovered that it's difficult to tell a weak stance from a strong stance just by looking at it. Which is why I'm somewhat anti kata competitions.

@darbet83 Oh, you're talking about HIM not doing the movements purposefully? I thought you meant that there was no point in doing katas, hence my comment. Sorry about that.

@CrystaltheWaterLily actuallt i am ..that is why i say what a said...we do these katas with every move meaning and for the purpose of something....he turns with his hands on his hips...and then starts the step move..so in karate what move is there were you just turn with your hands on your hips...he has no purpose in that move....and the last move he should be punching some one in the face that is behind him..in he looks like he is swatting a fly for the person and is stance are so week.

este es el 3 kata y es pinan sandan, los katas fueron cambiados de nombre por sensei funakoshi de pinan por heian, para darle un nombre mas japones
